Great points well made. I read an article called ‘Free’ in Wired magazine about 2 months ago which talks about similar ideas. The way that companies have to, and do, do business is changing. Bands like NIN and Radiohead will please their friends by selling trust but due to their massive supporter bases, will make shedloads of cash from high concert ticket prices. Plus innovation builds support amongst a perpetually younger and more internet savvy youth base.
